Foundation
Founded in 1998, the EPMA Foundation is a Texas Non-Profit Corporation - a 501(c)(3) organization under the Internal Revenue Code. It is organized exclusively for the benefit of the Museum to provide long-term funding for acquisitions, conservation/preservation, education and interpretation, and related areas of Museum functions not provided for by the City of El Paso's operational funding.

Docents/Volunteers
Volunteer gallery educators, also known as docents, have the privilege of engaging the community with the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions.  An ideal docent is responsible, and has a love of learning, a sense of humor, the ability to be flexible when necessary, and an enjoyment of both art and people.  Volunteer at the El Paso Museum of Art and reward yourself and the Museum.  EPMA volunteers work at the Museum School and assist teachers with students or campers, organize the studio classrooms, distribute snacks and make for a welcoming and comfortable environment for children ages 6-13.

Interns
The EPMA Curatorial Department regularly has one or more volunteers who are studying or have studied art or art history at local universities, such as UTEP and NMSU. Fortunately some of the active students are able to receive university credits for their work at the EPMA.
